Dun do thing that will make you regert

There are many times that I heard people's story about traveling, about living overseas, I always have the same expression, " Wow, so good. I also want." Everytime, people would talk about how fragile life is. People can be healthily talking to you today and left the next day. I don't want to be like that too. I still have many thing in life that I have not done yet. So, I'm not going to allow myself to feel regert anymore. I'm going to fight what I want and enjoy every single day. Do it first, decied later. If don't do that, I will not move ahead but keep walking on the spot.

2013 Korea - D13 Domestic flight

ONLY 13 DAYS LEFT !!!!!

The past few days I was like a crazy gal, worrying that we are unable to get domestic flight when we only left like less than 3 weeks. But after so long, it's settled !!! Finally I can cool down abit ..

Our plans was to stay in Seoul for a night before we head out to Jeju Island (instead of just going all the way to Jeju), then fly straight to Busan and stay the night there before taking KTX to Seoul.

We choose the following airline to Jeju and Busan as follow -

  • Eastar Jet airline
  • Air Busan airline

My friend took Eastar Jet to Jeju in June, and she said was not bad, so just booked with this airline.
As for the flight to Busan, I just randomly choose this airline because this is the cheapest I can find. Hahaha

Although the transit time are all only 1 hrs, just hope that is comfortable, or else the rest of the day will be very tired.. Look out !!

Yahoo News - The Worst Money Mistakes to Make on Vacation

Hello. Once again, I'm back with my recent reading on Yahoo news again. Haha

I do feel that these information are important for people who often go on oversea trip / like to go overasea (like me). In order to protect yourself when you are overasea, it is good to read more of other people review and learn from it.

After reading it, maybe because this news was taken from the US News & World report, this is more for the American. I said that is because I have totally no idea what is "timeshare" (point 4)! And there are some point I don't think I would follow. Like for example point 5 (spending too much on food). You are on a holiday, who would spend time cooking in the apartment ? You would be out whole day, playing, shopping, having fun, sometime you would even forget to it (I'm always like that, missing my meal when I'm oversea. Haha )

THE WORST MONEY MISTAKE TO MAKE ON VACATION
By Kimberly Palmer / U.S.News & World Report LP - Wed,Aug 14, 2013 3:12AM SGT

When you're on vacation, it's easy to get lazy about guarding your money. but vacationers can be prime targets for scam artists, overpriced meals and simple errors that result in lost cash. Here are six money mistakes to aviod while you're on vacation:

1. Falling victim to credit card fraud. When you're using your credit card multiple times a day in new locations, you can be more vulnerable to fraudsters trying to steal your personal information. The best defense is to keep a close eye on charges made to your account, even while travelling, by logging in online. (Just be sure to use a secure Internet connection and aviod shared computers.) If you see anything suspicious, call your card provider right away.
Card companies are also looking for anomalies. To prevert them from shutting down your card unnecessarily, let your card provider know before you jet off on vacation. Spending large amounts in a new location can trigger a ref flag alert that puts providers on notice that your card might have been stolen - but the charges might be legitimate ones stemming from your getaway. To prevent any potential confusion, tell your provider where you're going before you leave.
2. Getting scammed by traditional thieves. Certain cities in Europe are notorious for pickpocketing, but it can happen anywhere. To safeguard your wallet, purse and other valuables, travel expert and television host Rick Steves recommends wearing a money belt around your wist, leaving fancy jewelry at home and staying vigilant, especially in crowds.
3. Overspending on incidentals. Comparison shopping before you leave through travel websites can help you keep the big costs, such as plane fare and hotel expenses, to a minimum. But the smaller daily expenditures can also add up quickly. Consider bringing your own snack bars and water bottles for refreshments while you're on the road, and looks for hotels that offer free breakfast.
4. Buying a timeshare. For resort visitors, it can be a tempting scene: Timeshare salespeople offer free meals and other goodies in excharge for listening to a timeshare pitch. They encourage you to buy partial ownership in a vacation home or condo. Some people are swayed enough to actually make the purchase, which can come with unexpected financial risks.
As U.S.News has reported, timeshare owners pay a lump sum upfront (an average of $19,000 for a one-week per year stay) plus annual mainterance fees of $660. If they need to sell the timeshare later, it's not always easy find a buyer, and then they're stuck with the property and the annual fees.
5. Spending too much on food. When you're far away from your kitchen, it's not easy to cook up affordable meals. And eating out three times a day quickly adds up to huge costs. To keep those expenses down, consider renting an apartment through a website such as vrbo.com, so you can guarantee yourself access to a kitchen. That way, you can plan on eating at least one or two meals a day in your temporary home.
6. Paying unexpected medical costs. Driving on new roads can increase your chances of an accident, just as exposure to new germs can leave you ill far from home. Almost half the medical evacuations back to the United States among Americans travelling abroad are caused by car crashes, a according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (Medical evacuations typically cost $100.000 and up.) Driving carefully, wearing seatbelts and avioding nighttime drives can help reduce your risk, the CDC says. It also recommends getting all recommended vaccines in advance of overseas travel to help reduce the chances of illness.
When you're travelling in unfamiliart territory, it pays to keep your gurad up.

2013 Korea - Itinerary

Waited for so long, finally August is here. With August here, it means that its only 1 more month to my Korea trip ! Have to start doing my itinerary or else not enough time.

Because I'm going with a friend, it would be better if we do the planning together. However due to her job, is not easy to meet up with her. Everytime when I ask when can we meet, is like I'm begging her to meet me (was not happy about that, but what to do )

Before we sat down to take about it, I suggest to do research of where do she want to go, then is easier for us to plan. I have not been to Busan and Jeju before, is much more difficult for me/ for us to decide where to go/ how to plan. But at least we planned out the skeleton of our Seoul trip. We will have to think more before Sept for Jeju & Busan.

Below are the list of places that we planning to go in Seoul -

  • Ewha Woman Univ
  • Gyeongbokgung
  • Insadong
  • HyeHwa
  • Dongdaemun
  • Myeong Dong
  • Hoe Hyeon
  • Sin Chon
  • HongIk Univ
  • Lotte World
  • Seoul Tower

I will post more details on all these places after I have been there, so wait for my Sept post !

Tourist's terror ride in taxi

PETALING JAYA, Aug 2 — Criminals masquerading as taxi drivers are continuing to spread terror in the Klang Valley. The latest case involved a Japanese national who was robbed and assaulted in Selayang.
Despite being slashed a number of times, the 26-year-old former flight attendant, who is in Malaysia to study English, managed to escape.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, told The Malay Mailshe hailed a taxi at Publika about 8pm last Friday but got suspicious when the driver asked her if he could make a U-turn.
After 10 minutes of driving in the wrong direction, she started feeling uncomfortable and asked the driver repeatedly to stop the taxi.
“Every time I asked him to stop, he was silent. Finally, he turned into a dark alley and said, ‘Do you want me to kill you?’“ she said.
The driver grabbed her arm when she tried to open the car door.
He took out a parang from under the front passenger’s seat and slashed her several times before grabbing her bag containing her belongings.
“I just knew I had to escape. I managed to get out of the taxi and kept running without looking back,” she said.
She was found unconscious and bleeding by two Samaritans, who took her to Selayang Hospital.
While recovering in hospital, she said, she resolved to share her experience so that other women would not fall victim.
“I am disappointed by what happened, but many Malaysians have been kind to me.
“When women become victims of crimes they may want to keep quiet and ignore what happened, but we must be brave and speak out,” she said.
