Dun do thing that will make you regert

There are many times that I heard people's story about traveling, about living overseas, I always have the same expression, " Wow, so good. I also want." Everytime, people would talk about how fragile life is. People can be healthily talking to you today and left the next day. I don't want to be like that too. I still have many thing in life that I have not done yet. So, I'm not going to allow myself to feel regert anymore. I'm going to fight what I want and enjoy every single day. Do it first, decied later. If don't do that, I will not move ahead but keep walking on the spot.

Korea life - day 35 ( week 5) / Sungshin.W Uni

Korea life - 29 Mar 2014 (day 35 / week 5)

Today's plans actually was to check out a supermarket in Sungshin Uni (heard the prices are quite cheap), come back home for lunch then head to Myeong-dong and help friend to buy something.

Sungshin Uni
It was our first time at Sungshin uni, was quite surprised with the places. We were there quite early, so not all shops are open yet. We had problems finding the supermarket so we just anyhow walk around first.

While we were looking for supermarket, we saw that the things that we need to help our friend to buy at myeong-dong can all be find there too. So we decided to change our plans, just shop here and don't go myeong-dong (cook dinner instead of lunch)

Since we changed our plans, we went to for brunch (we haven't had breakfast too) at a place name <crazy tok> . Is very much like hotpot, but the things places inside is very different from singapore. You can find ramen; odon; tok;  dumpling; fish cake & vegetables. You could add more ingredients in if the basic are not enough.
nice food from <Crazy Tok>
Surprisingly we were able to finish all (forced ourself, don't want to waste money) then we went on to find the supermarket. Took us almost 10 min to find the place. Was a little disappointed with this supermarket as there wasn't much great different between the current supermarket that we are going too.

Just walked around for a while then headed to buy friend things (with people knowing that im living in Korea,  all asking to help to buy comestic,  but the problem is I don't use at all, how to know what to buy !! Lol ) And now that spring is officially here, I really need to get some shoes (I only brought boots with me!!) So went <Spao> to check it out. So happy I decided to go here and check it out, came out with 2 pairs of shoes !! No need to worry about shoes anymore !! We shopped til almost 3 then head back to rest (go on anymore, our wallets going to burn very very big hole, need to get out to control ourself )

As PQ has project need to submit next weekend (project on writting recipes in korean) , so tonight dinner took a longer time to cook (as she need to take pictures of every step) And it gave me the perfect chance to learn of to do it too. (Will post the recipe in another post) Normally PQ take less than 30 min to make meal but this time, took us almost an hrs!!

Korean are very different, some are super super nice treating you like their own, some are super unfriendly like you owe them money. We finally finish cooking and wanted to sit down and eat, this set of korean came in and just took our seat (when all our things were on the table) lol .. We were totally speechless, but too hungry to quarrels with them so we just stood there and had our dinner

Korea life - Day 34 (week 5) / (Seoul) Musical & Gwangjang Market

Korea life - 28 Mar (day 34 ; week 5)

There is no lesson today as we are going out for a field trip !! Is really what we need after a exam, a day to relax instead of continuing lesson. (I don't think my brain can take it too!! haha). Before this, our teacher only send us this picture and asked us to meet at Seoul Theatre

Met with my classmate at Hyehwa station first then head over to Jongno 3-ga station together.  We were asked to get out at Jongno 3-ga Station exit 15 (actually we were ask to meet at exit 14 but exit 14 is close for renovation so last min was asked to get out from exit 15 instead). When we came out of the exit, we were still worry that we can't find the place but turn out that there were alot of our school student gathering around there. I even saw PQ waiting there for her classmates.

Teacher was already there waiting for us by the time we reached. We were asked to wait outside of the theatre for a while before asked to go into the theatre. (Had some photo taking with the whole class before the show starts) We didn't check out what was it that we will are watching, so we were waiting excitedly for the show to start.
<The Painter : Hero>
The show was <The Painter : Hero>, where 4 painter taking turn to do painting along with musics. The show was beyond what I thought it will be!!! It was so entertaining and fun. Is a perfect show for foreigner (as there is no speaking at all or else level 1 student won't be able to enjoy it [which I'm in level 1]). I will bring my family over to watch this show!! [I went to check out the show's official website after that - http://thepainters.co.kr/eng/contents/sub_a1.html]

After the show, I went to have lunch with (part of my class) my classmate. Walked to Gwangjang Market (which is located nearby). It was a first time for many of us, we were like small kids, excite at everything we see. Hahaha. The market is very very big and it have a few section selling all different things (from clothes to wet market to eatery).

[For tourist want to try some local thing when you are in Seoul, can come to this market ; you can read more here - Gwangjang Market 광장시장 = http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SH/SH_EN_7_2.jsp?cid=273761 ]

How to go - Jongno 5-ga station (subway line 1); Exit 8
Gwangjang Market
Actually we wanted to eat at a eatery, but because we were too big group and everyone want to eat different thing, so in the end we just end up having a picnic by the Cheonggyecheon.

Had been eating outside for few days now (was busy studying too), chef PQ is in acting again today. Cooked pasta for dinner today, tried to learn how to make it while chef PQ is in action. It seem easy, but is not easy to remember the step one by one. I will have to note down every step the next time she cook (chef PQ receipt are super easy [but I can't remember], want to bring back these memories to Singapore)

Korea life - day 33 (week 5) / (Seoul) SKKU SLI Exam & Gentleman Dignity Mango Six Cafe

Korea Life - 27 Mar (day 33 ; week 5)

After 5 week of class, we are having our mid-exam today . I purposely wake up 5am in the morning study abit more before heading to school (as I have problem studying yesterday night). Although all the teacher kept saying that the exam is not difficult, the pressure is still there to make me worry.

The exam was set as of following -
9am - 9.50am - Listening exam
(total 30 MCQ question = 20 short question & 10 long question )

10am - 11.30 am - Written exam
( 1 picture composition, 2 short written question and 30 MCQ question )

12pm - Oral exam
(Randomly chose who go first during lesson time. We just have to appear at the exam room before your turn, no need to wait there)

Actually the exam was really not very difficult if we had pay attention in class but I still have problem with spelling and reading, so I spent lot of time understand what they want us to do. Don't think I done very well to score high marks, I just hope for a pass!! After written exam, I didn't went for lunch as I'm number six in the line for oral exam, went straight to the exam area and wait with the rest.

I only sit down for lunch after my oral with classmate while waiting for PQ to finish her exam. While eating, LJ asked if want to go out as she don't want to stay home. Since we had nothing to do too, we decided to go out with her to gangnam. ( she want to look for the 'Mango six ' cafe that SBS (television station) that shot Kdrama Gentleman dignity

Because we done our homework (how to go and gotten the direction) , we had no problem to find the place at all . Just that there is a need room walk quite a long direction from the subway station.

<< Mango six cafe store  >>
Open hours - 8am ~ 12am
Address - Nonhyeon-dong 97, Seoul, South Korea
How to go - take subway to Hak-dong station (subway line 7 (station 737)) and walk straight from exit 10 (cross the road after Standard Chartered Bank), turn left, walk straight and you will find it on the right side

(Sorry, only able to find a Korean map !!)

Is location in the centre of a business district , therefore there isn't much tourist around ( unless they went to look for this place [like us !! hehe] . They even had picture of where the gentleman dignity shot it, was like a little fan going around to take picture with all of it !! Bought a cup of drink (the drink that Jang Dong Gun drank in the drama), sat there and relax.
enjoying the afternoon with great places

Korea life - Day 29 (Week 5) / (Seoul) Filipino flea market & Beans Bins waffle

Korea life - 23 Mar 2014 (day 29; week 5)

In a few days time, I'm going to have my mid-team exam, therefore this week I won't be going far before that. Invited friends to shop around Hyehwa-dong (헤화동) this week. (with is just 1 min away from where I'm staying )

There is a Filipino flea market held at hyehwa every Sunday. I accidentally found out this place few years back when I was came Korea for holiday the first time, walked in something familiar. (Many Filipino are working in singapore too , so we know when we see that)

It was a very small flea market (total about less than 15 stalls.), but this was the first time I really take my time to shop around and try the food. They sell lot of things (although almost all the shops were selling the same thing at the same price), from food to shampoos to even durian!!

There were still some time before friend go off for her another appointment,  we walked around hyehwa-dong after the lunch at Filipino flea market. I always wanted to try the waffle here, so when we walked past I can't stop myself for not paying attention to it. Because of my attention, PQ and LJ accompanied me to spend money and try the waffle!!!

It was the best waffle I ever tried (but to pq,  there is even better). The mango and fresh cream went along so went that I forgot that I don't like fresh cream!  The ice-cream went so well with the waffle and fresh cream!! (OMG, I'm hungry again!!)

After LJ went off for her next appointment,  pq was blaming me for spending money (we were actually pretty broke for this Mar, we even had to pack lunch to school for at least 2 week or else the money was long gone!!  ) But she don't know how to reject us so ate with us (because of LJ, a Taiwanese friend I made in class). I can't say anything, so I just went back to study and keep quiet for the time being.
