Dun do thing that will make you regert

There are many times that I heard people's story about traveling, about living overseas, I always have the same expression, " Wow, so good. I also want." Everytime, people would talk about how fragile life is. People can be healthily talking to you today and left the next day. I don't want to be like that too. I still have many thing in life that I have not done yet. So, I'm not going to allow myself to feel regert anymore. I'm going to fight what I want and enjoy every single day. Do it first, decied later. If don't do that, I will not move ahead but keep walking on the spot.

Korea life - day 91 (week 13) / (Seoul) having fun

Korea Life - 24 May 2014 (day 91 week 13)

Although now I had moved up to level 2 but that doesn't mean that I had forgotten about my level 1 friends. Today I'm meeting up with some of them to have a house warming at LZ house as he just moved over.

As I meeting up the rest for dinner, so morning I went shopping with CL at Myeong-dong first. Yesterday I wanted to but didn't got to do any shopping, so today I did bought some things.

Went back to put down my thing before heading over to meet with LZ. LZ's living 2 subway stop away from school. Wanted to order and have it sent over but because LZ just moved over, still don't have contact number so he and his girlfriend went out buy while we watch movie in his house.

We kept eating, drinking, playing games (games that we played the last time). Because some have appointed the next day, we went off around 11 plus (don't want to stay until so late like last time [the last time, I tried having conversation with them that last 7 hrs!!])

Korea life - Day 90 (week 13) / (Seoul) Korea National museum & Hangang river

Korea life - 23 May 2014 (day 90 week 13)

Exam has finished and is time to have fun !! Every time after mid term exam, we will have our school field (with other level students too; level 1 - level 5 students will all go) and this term field trip is to Korean national museum. Actually I'm not interested in the museum trip at all, I'm only interested in going with my classmate.

Since the last dinner date I had with my new classmate, we are slightly closer to each other so this morning we met up with each other at subway station to head go over together. On the way there, because most of us are from different country, we had to keep our conversation in Korean (use all the grammar and vocabulary that we learn in class ).

Teacher were already waiting for us at the subway station when we arrived. While waiting to go in, we were all busy taking picture and chatting away. We were asked to split up into group to go around the museum to look for answer to fill in the question paper that they gave us.  Our group didn't read the question properly and went up to second level to look for us (question told us to look for answer in level 1 >u<). Because of that, it took us 1.5 hrs to find all the answer (or else it will end even earlier).

After we had finished with the games, we had lunch together. School had prepare lunch box for all student but because there were too many student, it is impossible to have all 5 level to eat together, so level 2 and level 3 student were asked to eat first, after we left then other level student come in and have their lunch.

Forth & sixth picture - gotten our lunch box and going to eat : Fifth picture - before heading to Hangang park
We didn't want to end our trip just like that so after we finish the museum trip, our class went to Hangang park to ride bicycle. But not everyone wanted to cycle so only one group went cycling and the other went off (to don't know where).  After an hrs of cycling, we slowly headed back home. Wanted to go shopping alone at Gangman underground shopping mall but too tired, so just went back and slept.

Korea life - day 73 week 11 / (Incheon) short trip with korean friends part 2

6 May 2014 - Day 73 week 11

This is really the worst day ever in Korea. Last night as I felt uncomfortable, so I went to sleep early. Early in the morning, I woke up to feel worse than last night. Kept going in and out of the toilet to vomit and diarrhea. Wasn't able to go back to sleep at all, so I just went to bath and waited for the others to wake up.

We waited for MY to finish up the unused tickets that we bought yesterday night and when he came back, he came back with medicine for me. HOW SWEET OF THEM !! I nearly cried, felt so touched that there is someone there who care for me since my mum is not around me.

Seaside near Wolmido Theme park
After finishing up the medicine, we continue of holiday in Incheon. We headed to the seaside where is just next to Wolmido theme park. We fed the seagulls and enjoyed the breaths before heading over to Incheon Chinatown. Wanted to take the bus there but can't find the bus-stop so we gave up and went to take the cab instead.
Incheon Chinatown

At Incheon Chinatown, the MOST poplar thing there was JaJangmyeon (짜장면). It is a noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of Chunjang (which is salty black soybean paste), diced pork and vegetable. Since we are there, is a MOST that we try the JaJangmyeon here. Although at that time, I can't really taste much now but since we are already there, we should at least have a taste of it.

top 2 picture of museum; bottom 2 picture of Incheon station

But before that, we checked out the JaJangmyeon museum and some history museum about Incheon. But my Korean standard is still not there yet, I can't understand a thing that it wrote. (Can read but don't understand).

Many of the restaurant were full of people, until we found a restaurant that we didn't need to queue up then we went in straight. And is only after lunch then I heard the truth from PQ that PQ's body is quite weak to virus (as she works in nursery school where the kids virus are everywhere), she started to keep going to the toilet too. I felt so bad about it, when I'm starting to feel better, she start to feel uncomfortable.

Seeing the both of us not feeling very well, we headed back to Seoul after lunch. Felt bad that MY & JY weren't able to enjoy the trip fully due to the both of us. Hope that the next time we meet them, we can really have fun

Korea life - Day 72 week 11 - (Seoul & Incheon) short trip with my Korean friends

5 May 2014 - Day 72 week 11

IT'S A PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN KOREA !! No need to go to school, so we (PQ & I) met up with our Korean friend, MY and JY. We planned to go on a short trip to Incheon as we thought that they were from there but in the end actually they were from Chuncheon, so we just took this as a short trip to have fun.

They came over to Seoul to meet us to have lunch. We had the BBQ buffet around our place and had ice-cream before we leave. Thought that we will be heading over to Incheon straight but MY and JY took us to an ice museum near Gyeongbokgung palace.

ICE MUSEUM

Ice Gallery

How to go : Anguk station (subway line 3); exit 1. Take your second right and head straight.
Fee : Ice Gallery 7,000 won / Experience hall 5,000won
Open hours : 10am - 7pm
More information = http://www.exploringkorea.com/ice-gallery-seoul/

subway station of Nam-incheon station
Took the subway to Incheon (which took us 2 hours -_- !! ). By the time we arrive at Incheon, we were actually still reach earlier than planned, so we went to have a cup of coffee first then heading to the traditional market to take a look and to try out some of the food.

We tried some of the food while waiting for MY queue up for a popular store that they wanted us to have for dinner. When we were eating, PQ forgot the fact that she can't eat mustard, which cause her to keep running to the toilet !! We were quite behind time because of that. She felt very sorry but we were more worry about her tummy more than feeling angry. Since we were quite behind time, we decided to take the cab instead of the bus to motel. And it was a small motel that is just location in front of the Wolmido theme park

The most popular ride in Wolmido Theme park
We went to check in first then head to the theme park for some rides. As it was semi-outdoor, we were to buy ticket for every ride (not like disneyland kind, where you buy a entrance fee and you can play everything.) Just after a few ride, I started to feel sick and wanted to vomit. The rest of them seeing me feeling so uncomfortable, they decided that we should go back and have some rest. I didn't bother to change, just went to sleep after we reached the room.

Korea life - Day 64 week 9 / (Seoul) Lantern festival

27 Apr 2014 - day 64 week 9

School holiday starts and just ended like that!! Only have 2 days of holiday before school start on monday, not going to waste this short period of time.

So on Saturday went to met up with PQ's friend who had came to seoul for holiday. PQ had planned to bring them to eat ginseng chicken soup, so me and LJ tagged along. Is a quite a popular store in Korea that many tourist are willing to Q up to eat here. Of course we will do the same since we are Singaporean !!
popular ginseng chicken soup shop
After the lunch, headed to insadong as LJ had not been there before. As there was nothing much that we could do there, we went to Jong-no to wait for the lantern parade that will be walking later. PQ register online so we were able to sit down and wait the parade. We waited till the sunset then we saw the first lantern.

Due to the ferry accident, they change some of the colorful lantern to white and yellow, so it's not that interesting.  We wanted to leave earlier but then they opened up to the public to join them. Before the parade began, they passed out lanterns and we were still wonder what are these for, it was for us to carry it when we join them. Walked all the way to insadong them take the bus home. Need enough rest as there is part 2 to this lanterns festival next day too.

 lantern parade
On Sunday, we met early in the morning to attend a making lanterns program that is specially organize for foreigners to try. Yesterday heard from my classmate that is very easy to do but we were shock when we were told how it should be do.

It was a different kind of lanterns as the one my classmate did yesterday. This lanterns took us 2 hrs sticking and pasting, really was a test of patience . we didn't stay for the lanterns making competition (as we know we won't win ) but we still sign in for our lanterns.

the lantern that I made ..
Headed to my favorite restaurant in insadong for early dinner. Chat and eat and drink till is time to go back and get ready for level 2  (this term don't have holiday , only weekend holiday!!! So sad)
